🔢 Numbers (1–1000) — Learning numbers is essential for telling time, shopping, counting, giving addresses, and many everyday situations. This lesson covers cardinal numbers (1, 2, 3...) and ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd...) with pronunciation guides in Urdu and English.

💡 Key Rule: French numbers have some unique patterns. Pay special attention to 70 (soixante-dix), 80 (quatre-vingts), and 90 (quatre-vingt-dix) which use addition and multiplication.

🔢 Tens (20–90)

The tens in French with pronunciation. Note the special patterns for 70, 80, and 90!

📌 Special Patterns:

70 = soixante-dix (60 + 10)

80 = quatre-vingts (4 × 20)

90 = quatre-vingt-dix (4 × 20 + 10)

• In Belgium and Switzerland, 70 = septante, 90 = nonante

🔢 Compound Numbers (21–99)

Numbers 21-99 are formed by combining the tens with the units. Note the use of "et" (and) for 21, 31, 41, 51, 61, and 71.

📌 Rule: Use et (and) for numbers ending in 1 (21, 31, 41, 51, 61, 71). No "et" for other numbers.

📌 Rule: "Cent" takes an "s" when multiplied (200 = deux cents). But when followed by another number, no "s" (201 = deux cent un).

📋 Ordinal Numbers (1st–100th)

Ordinal numbers show position or order (first, second, third...). They are used for dates, floors, rankings, and more.

📌 Ordinal Rules:

• Most ordinals are formed by adding -ième to the number (deux → deuxième).

1st is irregular: premier (masculine) / première (feminine).

• For numbers ending in 1 after 20: vingt et unième (21st), not "vingt et un-ième".

Exception: Numbers with "et" (21, 31, etc.) use no hyphen before "et".

200 = deux cents
Rule: "Cent" takes an -s when multiplied by 2 or more.
