🔤 The French Alphabet — The French alphabet has 26 letters: 6 vowels (A, E, I, O, U, Y) and 20 consonants. French pronunciation has many unique sounds, including nasal vowels, the French R, and liaison (linking between words). This lesson covers the letter names and their sounds with pronunciation guides in Urdu and English.

💡 Key Rule: French pronunciation is quite different from English. Pay special attention to nasal vowels (an, in, on, un) and the French R (pronounced in the throat).

🔑 Tip: The letter "Y" is called "i grec" (Greek i) in French.

French has many vowel sounds, including nasal vowels that don't exist in English.

📌 Nasal Vowels: In French, vowels followed by "n" or "m" are pronounced through the nose. This is very important!

• R is always guttural (from the throat), never like English "r".

Rule: When a word ends with a consonant and the next begins with a vowel, the consonant is often pronounced.
• les + amis = les-z-amis
• vous + avez = vous-z-avez
