💻 Practical 1: Downloading and Installing VS Code

Learn how to download and install Visual Studio Code, a free and easy code editor for programming.

🎯 Aim

To download and install Visual Studio Code (VS Code) on your computer.

🛠️ What You Need

  • A computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux)
  • Internet connection
  • At least 200 MB free space on your computer

📝 Steps

Step 1: Go to the Website

  1. Open your web browser (like Chrome or Edge).
  2. Go to: code.visualstudio.com
  3. Click the big blue Download button.

Step 2: Run the Installer (Windows)

  1. Find the downloaded file (it will be in your Downloads folder).
  2. Double-click the file to run it.
  3. Click Next a few times.
  4. Check the box "Add to PATH" (this makes it easier to use).
  5. Click Install and wait.
  6. Click Finish when done.

Step 3: Open VS Code

  1. Click the VS Code icon on your desktop or Start Menu.
  2. You will see the welcome screen.

✅ Result

VS Code is now installed on your computer. You can use it to write code.

💡 Tip: You can add extensions to VS Code for different programming languages. Click the square icon on the left side to find extensions.

  3. چند بار Next پر کلک کریں۔
  4. "Add to PATH" کے باکس کو چیک کریں (اس سے استعمال آسان ہو جاتا ہے)۔
  5. Install پر کلک کریں اور انتظار کریں۔
  6. مکمل ہونے پر Finish پر کلک کریں۔

تیسرا قدم: VS Code کھولیں

  1. اپنے ڈیسک ٹاپ یا اسٹارٹ مینو پر VS Code آئیکن پر کلک کریں۔
  2. آپ کو خوش آمدید کی اسکرین نظر آئے گی۔
